O.k Aleesa has always been a faddy eater, but last week she was poorly and since then its got worse and she has refused all meals since,
I really dont know what to do as i can see the weight falling of her and it hurts as shes already a tot and cant afford to lose more weight,
I try not to make a fuss at meal times as i actually do think its behaviour with her and its her way of having control but its so hard to keep cool when she just shoves food away or it goes on the floor,
Ive spoke to the hv and shes bringing her scales out a week on mon to see how her weight is doing, dont think i can cope with it till then tho as i feel shes starving herself,
As anyone got any ideas or tips or know anyone else who has been in a similar situation,i need HELP,
Dp thinks we need to make her sit at the table untill she eaten, but i dont think thats the way to go as shes getting attention by ways of food again,
Sorry that turned in a bit of a rant aswell, but just am so desperate x |

oh i have so been there hun (although michael has never really lost that much weight)
with michael he must eat at least one spoon full of whatever he has before he can have anything else - and i always used this as a threat (very honest)
but i just dont feel you can do that with Aleesa
another trick i try (normally if michael hates what we are eating) is to give him 5 mins to try the food himself, if not i get choc buttons/smarties something like that and for every spoon full he eats - he gets a button (etc) then as he goes through the meal i changed to every 2 spoons
i know it not great esp giving them chocolate with there tea but i would try it
hope it goes well hun xx |

Poor little thing.
I dont know if its the same as K, she does go off her food- i get around it as she loves veg and as long as im not looking at her, she'll eat. She hates fuss. She likes to pick at cooked carrots and peas.
Does she eat anything at all?
See what HV says. I hope she is better soon.

No i can honestly say that there is not a food i can say that she likes.
Before last week she used to like egg white but wont touch them now,
Think i might give that a try Linds,as i will try anything to get her to eat something, its so heart wrenching x |

hi hun
If she has stopped eating and this has an underlying cause then this needs to be investigated. But if it is purely a power struggle then you need to disengage-she will always win!
Try offering her small nutritious snacks rather than large meals, don't mae a fuss, just leave them around the room and let her discover them herself-most importantly you must remember-she will not starve herself intentionally!
best of luck
xx |

well we went doctors last night and they were going to admit her cause of her dehydrating,he was in agreement that we can come home if we puch fluids(which she has no problem)
Doctor had us going back this morning to see how she was ,called in the hv got her weighed and she as lost weight and slipped down of her centile,hv rang the dietician and now shes been prescribed some high calorie milk which i have to give her daily,
Got to get her weighed in about 3 wks and wait for the appointment to see the dietician,
So fingers crossed that she drinks the milk and picks back up weight wise, its so stressing me,i feel like ive done something to make her like this regarding food, shes not like me as i love my food |

Oh hun, it must be really stressful but please don't blame yourself. It sounds like you're doing everything you possibly can for her so in my opinion you have done everything right.
Fingers crossed the milk will help her keep her weight up. |
